A flexible resin nail that improves the look of damaged or discoloured toenails while your own nail grows.

What it is

Nail reconstruction uses a composite resin, set under UV light and bonded to your natural nail, to make a natural-looking artificial toenail. It's flexible, and you can file and polish it. It may suit nails damaged by injury, brittle or ridged nails, discoloured nails, partial nails, and fungal nails once treatment for the infection is under way. You need some natural nail left (around 15%) for it to bond to. It's a cosmetic treatment and doesn't treat the cause of nail damage. Andy has completed CPD training in cosmetic nail reconstruction.

What to expect

We'll assess your nails to check the treatment is suitable. Your nail is trimmed and filed, a bonding agent is applied, and then the resin is shaped and cured under UV light. Finally, it's filed and buffed. You can walk out straight away. The nail usually lasts about 6 to 8 weeks before it needs replacing as your own nail grows.
